Welcome to DNNprofessor's guide to Getting Started with DotNetNuke®.
This section is one of three training action tracks designed to give you a solid knowledge of web design, creating an Internet business, and using video to create a profitable web site using DotNetNuke®.
This section is designed for beginners. It is our goal to give you a solid understanding of DotnetNuke in an easy to understand presentation.

In lesson track 1 you will learn to:
- Understand the principles of DotNetNuke®.
- Register for the DotNetNuke® web site and download the DotNetNuke® application to your local machine – View Video - Lesson 1
- Unpack the DotNetNuke® application zip file and upload the files to a web hosting server using a FTP program – View Video - Lesson 2
- Modify the release.config file, save it as web.config, and complete the installation of our DotNetnuke® web site. – View Video - Lesson 3
- Secure your DotNetNuke® portal – Change the passwords for the admin and host accounts – View Video - lesson 4
- Understand the administration control console, content panes, and modules. How to delete the default modules from your home page. – View Video - Lesson 5
- In this video lesson learn how easy it is to add content to a DotNetnuke web page with the Text/HTML module. It's so easy even a monkey could do it! – View Video - Lesson 6
In lesson track 2 you will learn to:
- Add text and images to your page using the TEXT/HTML module
- Using the links module to add links to a page
- Preview a DotNetNuke® web site
- Change the look of a DotNetNuke® portal
- Using containers and how to change a container
In lesson track 3 you will learn to:
- Understand what a skin is and how to change a skin for your portal
- Upload your logo
- Add pages to your DotNetNuke® web site
- Move modules within your page
In the next lessons, we will explore administrative functions, creating a skin, configuring the registration, and setting up security roles for your DotNetNuke® portal.
