We're working on SEO for our business directory implementation (visit dev domain http://africabeckons.wowinteractive2.co.za/Default.aspx?tabid=58).

We used a basic key word density tool (http://www.gorank.com/seotools) to check that our key words and listings are being picked up. The tool picked up a lot of hidden code instead of our listing details. This code is in the VIEWSTATE property:

My questions as follows:

1. What can we do to inprove key word visibility for search engines on the listings page?

2. How do we ensure that the listing details page (which has much better key word visibility) is indexed quickly by search engines? e.g. is there an equivalent of a site map module designed to steer robots to listing details?

this is what we use http://www.fatgeorge.co.uk/Products/Syndication.aspx

Example here http://theresourcepool.com/Featured.aspx

Result http://theresourcepool.com/portals/2/AllListings.xml

We submit the .xml to Google as a Site Map

Works great.  Takes patience waiting for Google ;-)
