Businesss Directory has a built in sponsorship functionallity. It allows the site administrator to optionally assign a sponsorship level to a listing.

The choices are:

Business Directory Platinum Sponsor Business Directory Gold Sponsor  Business Directory Silver Sponsor Business Directory Contest Event Sponsor  Business Directory Content Contributor
Platinum Sponsor Gold Sponsor  Silver Sponsor Contest/Event Sponsor Content Contributor

By design, sponsorship levels give you the opportunity to assign a sponsorship level higher priority in your list. This results in more exposure for the company and hopefully allows you the ability to increase your monetization.

In this example we will assume that you have the desire to sort your list by Platinum Sponsor, Gold Sponsor, Silver Sponsor, Contest/Event Sponsor, Content Contributor,  with standard listings at the bottom of the list and you have checked the box (show sponsor link) on listings that are sponsored.

On your XMod form, the sponsorship levels are presented in a select1 dropdown box.

The values for the sponsorship levels are as follows:

Platinum Sponsor value = 5-Platinum

Gold Sponsor value = 4-Gold

Silver Sponsor value = 3-Silver

Contest/Event Sponsor value = 2-Contest-Event

Content Contributor value = 1-Content-Contributor

We wil assume that, as administrator, you have also assigned a sponsorship level to only enhanced listings.

Sorting a list by sponsorship level

  1. On you listings (XMod action menu) go to Configure Your XMod Module >> Display Settings >> Default Sorting
  2. In the form field select cboSponsor
  3. In the sort order field select descending
  4. Check the box - Use Item Value (applies only to list-type fields)
  5. Save Changes

Business Directory Default Sorting

The result:

Business Directory List sorted by sponsor

Can the ability of video/audio/pictures be limited by sponsor level?

Can this be set by creating individual modules for each sponsor? (And these separate modules will be on one page.)

 ctag,

That functionality is not built into Business Directory.

The ability to reveal video, audio, and pictures is based on the Administrator choosing Enhanced Listing vs Standard Listing.

Because this application is built for XMod, you have the ability to customize the templates.

You would need to change the video, audio, and picture sections, in a detail template, to show these sections if the listing is a certain sponsor type vs the current select statement that checks if the listing is an enhanced listing.

You can also filter XMod instances by a field value. This would allow you to create several different pages using the same form, kist view template, and detail template as your intial XMod instance.

The difference would be that in XMod filter settings you would set only listings to show that have a certain sponsor type. The field name is cboSponsor.
