Hi Bill,

Did you install the FatGeorge FileUpload control?

Hi Bill,

Form your private message I see that you are using a sub domain and have installed the FatGeorge control.

The sub domain should have been discovered in the XMod package installation process.

Here is what I want to do for you:

1. I am contacting FatGeorge to look at the error message.

2. I will look at your setup. If you want me to look at your configuration, send me the website URL and a temp host login and password to support@dnnprofessor.com

I will make time on Thursday morning to review it.

Buck

This looks very similar to a problem one of my customers had where a form used the fatgeorge fileupload by default, they didn't have the fileupload control installed.
Once installed all was fine.

we don't make XMod, we make it better!

Bill,

Also check the XMod adminstrative settings on the XMod module action menu to ensure that plug-ins are allowed. Also ensure that the global settings for enable plug-ins, enable custom form controls, and enable custom tag controls are checked.

i upgraded to xmod 5.5 on dnn 5.0 and it seems to work pretty good. I also put it on a main domain nbsworldwide.com and everything looks like it is working fine.

I do have a question as to how i make the form reflect the categories i added? I added 5 or 6 of the categories through the xmod and now need to make those the choices when they fill out the form.

Thanks for all the help

Bill

Hi Bill,

Glad to hear it.

One caution. XMod 5.5 is not supported on DNN 5.0 (DNN 5.0 was an early beta and had many bugs). I would suggest that you upgrade to DNN 5.1 which was released this week.

For answers to your category setup question, please see this post.

I installed the tag clouds and tried to set up a list for the categories as explained in your directions. I get an error when i add the control and configure it to the tag cloud page.

I am also having some difficulty making the "inquire" button pull up the page with the inquiry form. i set the tabid of the controls

from the home page on www.nbsworldwide.com click the "Handyman" category to see the listing result. (this is the list control i would like to have tag clouds build dynamically instead of the static one i built)

if you hover over the inquire button you will see that it keeps trying to get to tabid/61... and i clearly set it to...

That inquiry form is on the page ...

http://www.nbsworldwide.com/ListingResults/CompanyInquiry/tabid/65/ctl/Configure/mid/408/Default.aspx

I am keeping the Listing results and the Inquiry form on the menu for work purposes. They will not be included in the final look.

Does it matter that the form is on a sub-page?

By the way.... i love this so far. It has serious potential to meet or exceed my clients needs. Thanks.

Bill,

On the http://www.nbsworldwide.com/ListingResults/CompanyInquiry.aspx page I can't see your tabId because your are using friendly urls.

Whn logged into that page edit any module and then look at the tabid in the url. I don't think it is 61.

After you have determined the tabid number return to your form and edit in in plain text mode.

Check the parameter value for

parameter name="InquiryFormTabID" alias="IFTabID" default="YORU INQUIRY FORM PAGE TAB ID NUMBER"

Make sure it is the tabid number that you discovered in the info above.

Save your form.

It is very important that these setting are correct before you add many listings. Currently in Xmod, if you make a form change, you need to manually update the existing listings for the change to take affect.

This is a xmod safeguard so existing listings do not become corrupt.

In regards to the Fatgeorge TagCloud add-on have you read Buck's article How To Use the FatGeorge Tag Cloud Control?

Hope that helps,

Justin

Hi Bill,

You click the edit icon () below the listing and the listing form is revealed.

Scroll to the bottom and click update.

If you do not see the edit icon make sure you are logged in as Administrator.
