Now that you have purchased XMod, if you choose, you can begin to build many of your own applications.

Manage Categories is a built in function of XMod. Our applications do not use this XMod feature and here is the reason why:

Currently with XMod you can add categories that you can add to a form using the categorychooser control.

The problem with the built-in categories is if you build another application with XMod, all of the categories are availble to choose from for both projects.

This would not be helpful if you had specific categories for a business directory application and wanted completely unique categories for a reviews or inventory application.

As an XMod MVP, I work very closely with Kelly Ford, the developer of XMod, in creating improvements to the XMod environment. I have made a future request to change the manage categories to be on a per form basis. This would allow each form and each XMod project to have their own unique categories.

Until then, Categories and Sub Categories for DNN Professor applications are written and managed inside our application form code.
