I am beginning a new version of Business Directory.
I have many requests for tab structure on the details page similar to:
Review IT! - http://training.dnnprofessor.com/ReviewIT.aspx
and the soon to be released Move My Inventory application
http://training.dnnprofessor.com/MoveMyInventory.aspx.
While working with the new applications I have many ways that i want to improve Business Directory.
Here are a few thoughts:
- Tab Structure
- Condensing the app to just three forms (Single Category selection, Multiple Category Selection, and Category-Sub Category selection). With Review IT! and Move My Inventory I have written additional form parameters that allow you to decide to show video and/or No local video. This change would reduce the number of forms that you currently need to chose from.
- Addition of Social Bookmark links (See example at http://dnnprofessor.com/DNNDirectory.aspx).
- Adding the choice to show and play an audio Mp3 file
- Adding additional company contact names and their job titles
- Adding a coupon section that would allow the company to upload two coupon images with clickable links
- Adding additional templates that allow you to utilize the separate detail page module (XMod Detail View for XMod 5.0 - PA ). This addition would allow you to show your listing details on a page other than the listing page and gives you the opportunity to add additional DNN modules to your detail page. The XMod Detail View for XMod 5.0 - PA is freely available at http://dnndev.com/Other/Projects/tabid/319/Default.aspx after you have logged into the DNNdev.com site. You can see this detail module in action at http://training.dnnprofessor.com/MoveMyInventory/Demonstrations/Demonstration.aspx when you click the More Info button of a listing.
