We are finalizing the release of Business Directory 6.1.

We have implemented many of the features as mentioned in Business Directory 6.1 Progress Report.

I have come across one glitch and I need to know if it is a deal breaker for you.

after we created the, much requested, Advanced Search for for Busines Directory, we needed to add additional Filter by URL field settings in Configure XMod Module >> Data Settings >> Filtering >> Filter using URL Parameter.

The selected fields are cboCategory, SavedSubCategory, Country, cboState, City, Region, Company tags, and Zip.

All of the values are being saved to the Xmod database tables and Business Directory 6.1 performs perfectly.

Here is the issue:

After you have saved your settings, and if you go back and again and bring up Configure Your Xmod for editing, the Xmod parser is not retaining all of the filtered fields that were originally selected in the Filter Using URL parameter section.

If you make additional changes to Configure XMod module and save, only half of the filtered parameters will be saved. This forces you to check the Filter Using URL Parameter section and re-add the missing filtered parameters before again saving the configuration.

Now the chances of you needing to edit the Configure XMod Module section after the initial configuration setup are low. As I have previously mentioned, this is not affecting the features or performance of Business Directory 6.1 (Live Site Example of 6.1 in action).

I don't want to remove all of the new features that you have requested just so this small parser issue will retain all filter settings on configuration edit. The worse case scenario is that I document the filter default settings so you can quickly re-add them if need be.

I have discussed this with Kelly Ford, developer of XMod, and we have come to the conclusion that the new Business Directory is just too feature rich for the current filtering parser to parse through the entire form and maintain all of the filtered check box settings.

I am opting to release the new version and see if I can work with Kelly to address this in the next Xmod release.

This is holding up the new release and your opinions will determine how we proceed.

Thank for your help,
Buck

I would prefer that you release it now, bug included. On another note, are you going to be porting this to Xmod Pro?
